As your pediatricians, we want the most accurate tools to help us diagnose your child appropriately when school performance is an issue. The Vanderbilt ADHD rating scale is used in children 6-12 years of age. It provides insight into symptom presence and severity in classroom and home settings and is normally completed by both parents and teachers. Once a diagnosis is identified, we can combine medications, counseling and changes at school to address each child's learning style.
