Breast Feeding

There is no doubt that breastfeeding your baby provides the best form of nutrition and protects him/her from infection. Breastfeeding also benefits the mother by lowering the risk of certain health problems like type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, and postpartum depression. However, as three mothers who have personal experience with breastfeeding we understand that it is not necessarily the picture-perfect scene that is portrayed in the media. Breastfeeding is a learning experience for both mother and baby and it can take some time to establish a healthy breastfeeding routine. If you have questions or are having problems with breastfeeding please ask your pediatrician at your visit. We are also equipped with a breastfeeding room in our office to give you the comfort and privacy should you need to feed your baby during your time in our office.

We understand many women may be apprehensive or unsure at first about breastfeeding vs. bottle-feeding their baby. It’s normal to have many questions related to breastfeeding. Our doctors are here to support you.

La Leche League was founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal help, to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. The mission of La Leche League is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
