Well Exams

Keeping your child healthy and vaccines up to date are very important to us. At "well" visits, your child will have growth measurements, blood pressure checks, sensory screening (vision/hearing), behavioral assessments (using screening tools), physical examination, oral health checks, and at recommended times, procedures including vaccination, hemoglobin/lead screening, and cholesterol screening. All of our good child checks include anticipatory guidance for nutrition and diet, behavior and development, safety/injury prevention, and school performance. Developmental, psychosocial and chronic disease issues for children may require more frequent treatment visits separate from preventive care visits.

We recommend preventive care "well" child visits at the following intervals:

Newborn : at 3-5 days of age, with a second visit before the 1st month of age.

Infancy: 2 month, 4 month, 6 month, 9 month checkups.

Early Childhood: 12 month, 15 month, 18 month, 24 month, 30 month checkups.

Childhood: Yearly Checkup

These guidelines represent a consensus from the American Academy of Pediatrics for comprehensive health supervision to keep your child healthy and vaccines up to date.
